Strawberry Fields is Here

Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is almost over. In another 19 hours, Strawberry Fields 2009 will be upon us!

I know, I know. It's a Friday, college is on, etc etc. But it's also November, and more importantly, this is Strawberry Fields!!! With a line-up of 50 bands that have gravitated towards 'the field' from all corners of the Country, it would be a shame to miss this SF.

where each category has a maximum score of 10 (0-10), the maximum total score possible being 50.

Most Popular Band

For the first time ever, Strawberry Fields 2009 will have a Most Popular Band contest. At Strawberry Fields 2009, everybody has a chance to make a difference!!! Times of India, the main sponsors for Strawberry Fields, are organizing this contest.

Bands, This is your chance to show India how popular you really are. All you have to do is:
1. Mail in a demo track and band bio to strawberryfields.nls@gmail.com.
2. Please remember that only registered bands will be considered for the same.
3. Also, keep in mind that the track should not be longer than 7 minutes.

This competition will be held online on the Times of India website. The result of the same is in no way connected to NLS or the official results of Strawberry Fields 2009.

Strawberry Fields 09: Registration Opens

"For three days an oasis of music in the middle of a field comes alive. For three days a family-like following comes together to renew the bonds of music, all over again."

Registration for Strawberry Fields 2009 is now open! This happens on a strictly 'first come, first serve' basis and there are only 50 slots available. The Prelims at Strawberry Fields 2009 will be held over two days - the 20th and the 21st of November. The top five bands will be selected to play at the Finals, which will be held on the 22nd of November.

You have an option of registering as either a Semi Pro band or a college band. These categories shall be judged together, with the only difference being that only college bands are eligible for the best college band prize. You will also have to provide us with further details as mentioned in the registration form attached to this mail. Please download the form, fill it out and mail it back to us. The registration fee for SF '09 is Rs. 500 only.

Our preferred mode of payment is cash but we do accept Demand Drafts as well. Since our college re-opens on the 9th of November, we might receive the Demand Draft only then, and it is only after the Demand Draft is in our hands that we can register you. Therefore, we would encourage you to have the money, in cash, sent to us via your friends in Bangalore. However if this is not possible, I would request you to speak to us before you send your Demand Draft. Please remember that your registration will be confirmed only when we receive the Registration money.

For those of you that still wish to take a chance with the DD, keep the following details in mind:

1. The DD is to be made in favor of “SBA LeGala”
2. The DD should be payable in Bangalore
3. The covering letter should contain the name of the band, and your contact details
   
4. The envelope and covering letter should be addressed to

6. These DDs should preferably be sent through a Courier/Registered Post/Speed Post to ensure that they are not lost on the way.

The registration form available on this blog carries a few basic questions we will need you to answer, but it shouldn't take you more than 3 minutes. That, along with the registration fee, is all that is required.
