Strawberry Fields 2009 - Finals and Prelims Scoresheets

1. The prelims of SF 2009 were judged by Rajeev and Uday Jose. All changes/alterations made by the judges in the score-sheets have been signed. Rajeev has signed next to such alterations and Uday has done so adjacent to the total scores column.

2. The SF 2009 Finals was judged by Rajeev, Uday Jose, Hari Adivarekar, Narayan and Jason Zachariah. All changes have been signed by the judges themselves either next to the changes themselves or next to the total score column of the concerned band.

Rajeev has been an active musician for over 20 years, having played previously with bands such as Stomp and Retronome. He is currently a solo recording artist working on his third studio album with his group, Rajeev and the Rebels. He is the owner of Kyra, Bangalore's most popular live music destination, and is in the process of launching his own record label next year.

Uday Jose is a professional freelance keyboardist, with over 14 years of experience in the music industry, having played with such accomplished musicians as Ms. Vasundhara Das. Currently a member of the NXOS music school headed by DJ Shawn and DJ Premik, where he teaches keyboards, Uday is also an expert in music production and the pedagogy involved therewith.

Hari Adiwarekar is a former member of the rock group Zebediah Plush. He worked with Worldspace for three years, in a dual capacity, as an RJ on their rock music station Spin, as well as as an editor for their music magazine. An accomplished freelance journalist for the last four years, Hari specializes in photography and writing, with music journalism being one of his strong suits as well as his most enduring passions.

Jason Zachariah currently plays with bands as musically diverse as Allegro Fudge, Thermal and a Quarter, Bhoomi, Caeser's Palace and Parousia, among others. He was also a member of erstwhile, but widely feted local outfits like technical-death metal band Extinct Reflections, and the prog-tinged rockers Black Earth. Jason's facility across genres, his theoretical and technical skills, as well as musical intelligence have enabled him to develop into a prolific composer with some of his current projects. He is one of the few certified Pro Tools operators in the country, and maintains a keen interest in audio recording and music technology... regularly assisting local bands with mixing, editing and mastering. Jason has also scored music for Anmol Vellani's stage productions of Exit the King and Woyzeck.

Narayan is an accomplished bass player and has been a part of the Bangalore bands Myndsnare and Clockwork Orange. Narayan is widely respected in the music circles and is known to have a keen ear for music of all shades and hue.

3. The decision on individual awards was arrived at by consensus and all 5 judges have signed next to the decision.

The Winners of SF 2009 were Blacklisted (Chennai) and the runners-up were Solder (Bangalore). The best guitarist was from Blacklisted, best drummer from Solder, best vocalist went to Bridge, best bassist to Bicycle days and the best Keyboard player award was secured by Armour of God. The consolidated scores of the prelims and finals along with the scanned copies of the signed score sheets are the following.
